My song is on the wrong artist's page, or someone else's song is on mine. How do I fix it?
Report it with the content mismatch form in Spotify for Artists, or ask your distributor to file the fix. Spotify’s help page on mixed-up music says it emails you when it’s sorted, “usually within a few days.”
The form needs you logged in to Spotify for Artists. No access yet? Claim your profile first, or go through your distributor instead.
On DistroKid, open the Goodies menu in the top right, then Helpful When Needed, then Fixer. DistroKid’s help page says to check the oldest release on the profile first. If it’s yours, pick “Someone else’s music is incorrectly on my page.” If it isn’t, pick “My music is on the incorrect page.” DistroKid says stores usually process it within several days, but it can take several weeks.
You can also catch it before release day. Anyone with Admin or Editor access sees upcoming releases, and Spotify’s page on unreleased music says to open the release’s options and choose “Report incorrect release.” Tell your distributor as well, because a report to Spotify only fixes Spotify.
To stop it happening again, paste your Spotify artist link into your distributor’s upload form every time. Spotify says delivering with a specified artist ID helps prevent mix-ups. Our guide to posting music on Spotify shows where that field sits.
