Is TikTok removing Spotify links from bios?

Not that TikTok has announced. It stopped supporting links that open other social media apps, and it hasn’t said Spotify falls in that group.

Here’s what’s on the record. TikTok’s help page on linking other accounts says it “no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps.” The same page says links to those platforms’ websites are still allowed.

The change got noticed this fall. Music Business Worldwide reported on Oct 9, 2026 that, according to Bloomberg, TikTok’s September changes included removing dedicated Instagram links from profiles. Spotify isn’t mentioned.

What isn’t known: whether TikTok counts Spotify as a social media app. We found no TikTok announcement and no news report of Spotify links being pulled. So if yours disappeared, the cause isn’t confirmed.

By TikTok’s wording, a regular open.spotify.com web address is a website link, which is still allowed. That’s our reading, not a TikTok statement. Paste the full web URL, then tap it from another account to check it opens.

Your songs can also live on your profile without any bio link. DistroKid’s page on TikTok profiles says artists with a TikTok Artist Account get a Music tab showing their delivered tracks. Claiming one is covered in our guide to getting your music on TikTok, and what to post once it’s set up is in TikTok music promotion.
