How do I upload music to Roblox with DistroKid?

Select Roblox as a store on DistroKid’s upload form, or add it to a live release with “+Add to more stores” on the album page.

That’s from DistroKid’s Roblox help page, which also lists the conditions:

  • You must own 100% of the publishing rights.
  • You can’t be registered with a PRO such as ASCAP or BMI.
  • No explicit songs.
  • Roblox curates its Creator Store, so delivery doesn’t guarantee your song goes live.

The big one: DistroKid says music sent to Roblox “is not monetized at this time.” You earn nothing per play. What you get is discovery. Game creators find your track in the Creator Store and use it in their experiences, and Roblox’s launch post on its Developer Forum says that music is meant to be used only on Roblox.

Neither page mentions an extra charge, so it rides on your regular DistroKid plan, from $24.99 a year for Musician. Our DistroKid pricing breakdown covers what each plan includes.

With a PRO, or without a distributor, you can upload the song yourself as an audio asset. Roblox’s audio docs allow 2,000 free imports every 30 days if you’re ID verified (100 if not), each file under 20 MB and 7 minutes. You need the rights to whatever you upload.

Don’t quit your PRO to qualify. It collects performance royalties everywhere else, as our ASCAP vs BMI guide explains.
