Why can't I see my release in Upcoming after it was delivered?
Usually it’s timing: a release has to be in Spotify’s system at least a week before release day to show under Upcoming. That rule is on DistroKid’s help page about Upcoming.
It also isn’t instant. Spotify’s page on unreleased music says it can take around 48 hours to appear after your distributor delivers it. Give it two days before you worry.
Still missing? Open Music, then Upcoming, and check these:
- You’re the featured artist. Spotify doesn’t show releases you’re featured on, or ones that credit you on a track but not on the release. Only primary artists see them.
- It’s a compilation. Those skip Upcoming too.
- It went to the wrong profile. DistroKid calls this a mapping issue. Our FAQ on a song on the wrong artist page covers the fix.
- It was live before. RouteNote’s help page says an updated release that already reached Spotify won’t show, because it’s already gone live once.
- Your access level. Only Admin and Editor roles see upcoming releases.
This matters because the pitch form lives in Upcoming. Miss the window and you can’t pitch that song to Spotify’s editors. Our guide on how long DistroKid takes to upload explains why four weeks out is the safe upload date.
