Why aren't my credits showing on Spotify?
Usually because your distributor never sent them, or Spotify hasn’t caught up with the update yet. Spotify’s help page on song credits says it shows “all credits from the metadata your label or distributor sends us.”
You can’t type credits into Spotify for Artists. Your distributor has to resend the track’s metadata, and Spotify says credits “usually appear within 7 days” after that. It also says some distributors don’t support credits yet.
On DistroKid, open the Features Menu in the upper right, click “Enhance your music,” then “Credits.” Pick a song, choose a credit type from the “Add new…” dropdown, type the name and click “Save this credit.” Then hit “Done, submit to streaming services.” DistroKid’s credits guide says this works on releases that are already live.
DistroKid’s page on missing credits says they can take 1 to 2 weeks to show, and some services aren’t built to display every credit type. If a credit has to show, DistroKid recommends filing it under Songwriter or Producer.
Songwriter names are a separate case. Spotify only makes them clickable when the writer has a Songwriter Page with a Written By playlist, and those pages are still in beta. A plain-text name isn’t a broken credit.
Settle names and roles before upload with a split sheet. If the title is wrong too, see changing a song after upload.
