Why can't I change my Spotify header image?
Usually because you’re on your phone, your access level is Reader, or the profile isn’t claimed yet.
The phone is the usual culprit. Spotify’s page on managing artist images says you can’t update the header “on a mobile web browser or on the Spotify for Artists mobile app.” It’s computer only. Log in at artists.spotify.com, click View profile, click the edit icon above your monthly listener count, then click Update under Header image.
No edit icon? Check your access level. Spotify’s access levels page lets Admins and Editors edit the artist profile, while Readers can only look. Only a Team Admin can change your level.
No Spotify for Artists login at all means you haven’t claimed the profile. Our guide to changing your Spotify profile picture through DistroKid covers getting access, and the pending claim FAQ covers a claim that’s stuck.
If the upload fails, check the file. Spotify’s image guidelines want at least 2660 x 1140 pixels, in JPEG, PNG or GIF, and no larger than 20MB. Text, ads and tour or release promos aren’t allowed, and Spotify can remove a header that breaks the rules.
Changed it and still see the old one? Spotify shows the header on the desktop app, the web player and the Now Playing view on smart TVs. Your phone isn’t on that list, so check on a computer.
