Why has my profile claim been pending for weeks, and how do I claim it if the producer uploaded the songs?

Spotify reviews manual claims by hand and says approval “can take a few days,” but it doesn’t publish a deadline beyond that. Who uploaded the songs doesn’t decide who can claim the profile.

Spotify’s page on getting access says you “don’t need to do anything” while a request is under review, and a rejection comes by email with next steps. Only one request can be active per profile, so you can’t file a second one to nudge it. After a few weeks, contact Spotify for Artists support with your artist link. Our guide to getting verified covers the full claim.

The links on your request are what the reviewer goes on. Socials that clearly match the artist name help.

When a producer delivered the music, the instant route usually isn’t yours. A preferred distributor grants access automatically, but DistroKid’s registration page runs it from the uploader’s account, under Features, then Special Access, then Spotify for Artists. You’ve got two options:

  • Submit the manual claim at artists.spotify.com with your own links.
  • Have the producer claim it through their DistroKid, then invite you as an Admin. Spotify’s invite steps are at manage.spotify.com/teams: select the team, click Invite, pick the access level.

If the producer already has access, you can’t request it yourself. Ask them for the Admin invite. If the songs landed on someone else’s page, use the wrong-profile fix first.
