Why can't I see the pitch option in Spotify for Artists?
Usually it’s your access level, the song’s status, or a pitch you already have open.
The pitch only lives in one place: Music, then Upcoming, next to an unreleased song. Spotify’s pitching page lists the rules that hide it. Our editorial playlist guide covers the form.
Check these in order:
- Your access level. Pitching needs Admin or Editor. Spotify’s access levels page says Reader can see stats and the profile but can’t pitch. Ask your team admin for a new role.
- The song isn’t in Upcoming. Our FAQ on a release missing from Upcoming goes through why that happens.
- You already pitched. You can pitch one song at a time. The next pitch opens once the pitched song goes live.
- It’s already out. Spotify says once a song has gone live, it’s no longer eligible.
- It’s a compilation or a feature. Spotify doesn’t let you pitch compilations or songs you’re a featured artist on. The main artist’s team has to do it.
- Your label locked it. A label or licensor can make a pitch label-only. You’ll see the song and who pitched it, but not the genre, mood and culture tags.
Even with the button showing, timing matters. Spotify asks you to deliver at least 7 days before release so editors have time to listen.
